ABOUT NATURE WORKS

Welcome to Nature Works, where we believe in the transformative power of nature to support well-being and enhance therapeutic relationships.
Based in England we offer a range of outdoor activities designed to connect children and young people with their key workers through the great outdoors!
We offer a flexible programme based on ten different activity options, allowing CYP to choose the experiences that best suit their interests. For those who want to personalise their journey even further, they can mix and match activities from different options to create a tailor-made experience. Our outdoor activities provide a unique opportunity for children to develop essential skills through hands-on, nature-based experiences. Whether it is going on nature walks, building shelters, sharing thoughts around a campfire or engaging in other creative challenges, children have the chance to explore, learn and grow in an environment that encourages curiosity, development and teamwork.
At Nature Works, we know that outdoor experiences not only promote physical activity but also help build emotional awareness, self-esteem and a lasting connection to nature. Our programmes foster deep and supportive relationships between CYP and their key workers, creating a space where trust, communication and personal growth can flourish. Every activity is designed to encourage teamwork, emotional-wellbeing and resilience - qualities that CYP can carry with them long after the experience ends.
Led by a team of dedicated and experienced facilitators, we are committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment where a CYP can feel at ease, yet also be learning. Our team works closely with children, young people and their families or carers to ensure every experience is enriching and tailored to meet individual needs.

MEET THE NATURE WORKS LEADER
DAN EVELEIGH
Dan's connection to nature began in his childhood, growing up in the heart of the countryside, where he developed a lifelong love for the outdoors. Spending time in nature shaped his sense of how to find adventure, find peace, and the importance of well-being - key issues that have remained with him throughout his life. However, his career path led him into the challenges of urban environments, where he served as a police officer, mainly in communities, and specilising as a hostage and crisis negotiator and mentor. These roles exposed Dan to high-pressure situations and the complexities of human emotion, where his natural compassion and commitment to public service and supporting the well-being of others were key to his success.
Towards the end of Dan's time in law enforcement, he played an integral role in implementing trauma-informed practice within custody suites. His efforts focussed on ensuring support was provided for vulnerable detainees' welfare and well-being, prioritising safety, empathy and understanding in that difficult environment. These experiences deepened Dan's commitment to supporting people through difficult times, particularly CYP.
As a father of three and a former rugby coach, Dan understands first-hand the power of community, teamwork and the importance of building strong and supportive relationships. His passion for supporting others extends beyond his personal life. Dan is actively involved in communities, volunteering at the TeamHub Community Centre in Leicester. Here he works closely with local children and young people, providing mentorship and guidance around self-esteem and resilience, while enhancing their sense of belonging and connection.
At Nature Works, Dan draws on his diverse experiences and expertise to design and lead programmes that focus on the physical, emotional and mental well-being of children and young people. As a qualified bushcraft instructor, he brings hands-on, nature based learning into his work, helping children develop life skills, resilience and a deeper connection to the natural world. Dan's passion is to create spaces where children can thrive, both in the great outdoors and in their everyday lives - empowering them to build confidence, navigate challenges and discover their true potential.
